The BIG DOG is the hefty utility version of CRKT’s M16® Special Forces series, with a 3.875" (9.8 cm) blade and full-size handle with butt pommel which is exceptionally useful in tactical situations. Weight is kept to 5.4 oz. (153 g). The CRKT production aluminum frame SFs are based on Kit Carson's custom M16 design. They feature contoured handles of textured, black, hard anodized 6061 T6 aluminum, with a perimeter radius for a comfortable grip with or without gloves. Stainless steel locking liners with friction grooves, for positive locking. AUS 8 stainless steel blades, chosen for edge retention and durability, with non-reflective black titanium nitride coating for maximum corrosion resistance. Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point™ Serrated cutting edges for rugged cutting tasks. One-hand opening and closing is quick and smooth, the result of precision tolerances and Teflon® bearings. The ambidextrous thumb stud with checkered surface provides instant access in any circumstance. Each knife comes with two stainless steel black Teflon-plated clothing/gear clips, extra screws and a Torx® tool, allowing four-position carry on belts or webbing— tip up, tip down, left or right. The BIG DOG is a unique knife, designed by the military for special forces use. (M16-SF series is not designed for in-pocket carry.)
