Designed by customer knifemaker, Fred Carter, an avid Harley-Davidson enthusiast, this new high tech folder is not only beautiful, but is also made in the USA using the most advanced engineering and materials in the world. The Velocity features the new patent pending "Accelerator," an innovative open-assist mechanism, also designed by Fred Carter. While opening the blade, using the ambidextrous thumbstud, partially push the blade out and the "Accelerator" takes over and swiftly opens the blade to its full, locked position for you. The laser-cut handle parts are precisely engineered and CNC machined aluminum with polished billet aluminum hand grips. The laser-etched 440 stainless steel blade features full heat treatment, plus CRYOEDGE, a cryogenic tempering process at -300°F for an extremely high edge retention. Each knife is presented in an aluminum storage case.
