KA-BAR first started coming around during WWII, when US troops found that a knife was needed for trench warfare. Because of its hunting design, KA-BAR became the most popular knife used. Generations of Marines after WWII continued to carry these classics. The handles of the Fighting Knife and Short fighting knife is all leather. The blade is proudly stamped with KA-BAR on one side, and either USMC (full or short), U.S. Army (full), or USA (short) on the other.
