Model: CRKT2820 After Russ Kommer makes a new knife, he takes it on the next hunting trip he guides and uses it on the heavy skinning of Alaskan moose, caribou and bear. If it works right, feels right, and holds its edge, Russ has another design in his book. If it doesn't, he takes it to his workshop and destroys it. CRKT's new Signature Hunters started as Kommer customs and survived his field test. That's good enough for us.
Named after Alaska mountain ranges, the Signature Hunters are simple classic fixed blades, with a full tang blade of 1.4116 stainless steel, high hollow ground and mirror polished to minimize staining and corrosion and to give less resistance while skinning.
Each blade has friction grooves on the spine and a deep finger choil, giving grip and control under the slipperiest conditions.
The dark stained exotic wood scales feature Russ's unique diagonal split, which also provides additional finger gripping edges. Scales are riveted in place with classic stainless steel rivets. Each knife has a slot at the butt and a hand tied leather fob.
The Kuskokwin Signature Skinner is a full-bellied skinner with a gut hook. When you have big animals to dress out, this is the knife to take along.
